At Gulf Stream School the Development Office supports and reinforces the mission, values, financial vitality, and the future of the School, by promoting awareness and visibility among the School Family and throughout the larger community.
We are seeking a data and results oriented team member to serve as the full time Development Services Associate and Database Manager. This individual is a key member of the Development Team and plays a crucial role in the success of all development activities. He or she will focus on 1) managing the Raiser’s Edge database, donor research, and reporting in support of fundraising and donor engagement, and 2) building a comprehensive alumni database. The ideal candidate will work well with others, manage multiple projects at the same time, enthusiastically participate in occasional after-hours development activities, and have strong interpersonal skills.
This position reports to the Director of Development.
Essential Functions and Tasks/Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage gift entry and acknowledgement process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of gifts and pledges through Raiser’s Edge
- Produce accurate and timely reports in all development related areas (i.e. annual, capital, special events, planned and major gifts efforts)
- Oversee activities related to donor recognition and cultivation, including events and stewardship initiatives
- Build and maintain a comprehensive alumni database
- Partner with Development Team members to build a culture of philanthropy throughout all constituencies and robust programs in all areas of the development efforts
- Promote a culture of philanthropy through collaborating with team members and constituents
- Provide administrative support for the Development Team
- General office and project management
- Attend Development Office and school organized events
- Evening and weekend work related to the Development Office operations and other limited occasions is required
- Comfortable interacting with and engaging constituents and colleagues
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 years of experience in advancement services (independent school or non-profit experience preferred)
- Expertise in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT with proficiency in data entry
- Basic office administration skills, including working knowledge of Google Suites and Microsoft Office required
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Attention to details, accuracy, and deadlines
- Respond to sensitive matters and/or situations with discretion, tact, and confidentiality
