Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in the care and treatment of animals. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the health and well-being of pets, while also assisting in the smooth operation of our veterinary practice.
Duties
- Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both pets and staff during examinations and procedures.
- Assist veterinarians in veterinary critical care situations, providing necessary support and monitoring.
- Utilize veterinary terminology effectively when communicating with team members and pet owners.
- Conduct dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures using appropriate dental terminology.
- Implement aseptic techniques during surgical procedures to maintain a sterile environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology to assist in diagnostics and treatments.
- Perform X-ray procedures under the supervision of a veterinarian, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Animal restraint techniques and handling skills.
- Veterinary critical care practices and protocols.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and its application in clinical settings.
- Strong foundation in animal anatomy knowledge and physiology principles.
- Experience with X-ray equipment and procedures is preferred but not mandatory.
