The successful candidate will cover government meetings and write about the arts and business in Naples, which is known for its high-end shopping, world-class arts and culture, sophisticated dining, family fun and wild outdoors.
Responsibilities and Learning Expectations:
The Naples Press, a weekly newspaper that covers Collier County, Florida, is hiring an intern for the Spring 2025 semester. The successful candidate will cover government meetings and write about the arts and business in Naples, which is known for its high-end shopping, world-class arts and culture, sophisticated dining, family fun and wild outdoors.
Responsibilities and Learning Expectations:
- Research materials and fact-check data before writing well-constructed stories based on reliable information.
- Attend press conferences and other events and write about what happens.
- Interview key people and investigate interesting tips we receive about great stories.
- Assist co-workers to “get the paper out” on time each week.
- This position is onsite in Bonita Springs, Florida and pays $14 per hour for up to 20 hours a week of work.
