The Financial Analyst supports the Finance organization by performing general accounting duties, creating / maintaining financial reports, and preparing statistical analysis to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records. The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting the financial team with a variety of activities including general ledger entries, month-end and year-end closings, budgeting, forecasting, data analytics, and business intelligence.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
1-3 years of experience or more in healthcare operations and / or financial field.
Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
Software experience with Excel spreadsheets, business intelligence and EHR software.
Strong working knowledge of financial data.
Ability to work with large datasets.
Strategic thinking and organizational skills
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Gather key data and reports from Electronic Health Record software to compile and create statistical reports and graphs.
Collaborate with Revenue Cycle team to record and report accurate revenue entries for financial statements.
Develop and maintain financial analysis tools to aid in operational review and decision aid support.
Participate in end of month assignments related to the financial statement package.
Participate in creating and implementing budgeting, reporting and forecasting plans.
Participate in regulatory filings inclusive of annual audit, cost reports, and 990-tax filing.
Assist with annual filings and timelines to ensure organization meets timely and accurate filing requirements.
Acts as a Liaison between internal and external parties on behalf of the Finance department.
Prepare ah-hoc financial reports as requested by senior management by collecting, examining, and summarizing key information and trends.
Develop corresponding educational material as needed.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES :
Experience with statistical analysis, business intelligence and data driven decision making.
Strong working knowledge of general accounting principles. Demonstrated knowledge of technical and operational accounting and finance functions.
High attention to detail with ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently.
Must possess strong work ethic and always maintain strict confidentiality.
Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
