The Urban Planner position is tasked with keeping active entitlement stage projects running smoothly. This includes the coordination of concept plan pre application, zoning and future land use amendment submittals, sub consultant coordination. Implementation and management of Standard Operating Procedures and Processes; strong task management skills as well as deadline awareness and ability to provide guidance/assistance to the production team.
Effective communication skills, working with a team, the ability to multitask and the desire to finish projects efficiently and effectively are competencies required to do this job effectively, with the core being the ability to know where each project lies in the continuum of submittals from the time a client has signed a contract with Gulfstream Design Group until the scope of work is completed. This vital role is key to the success of any entitlement project. Each project follows similar critical milestones; however, all projects vary.

Education/Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in urban planning, landscape architecture, or a related field.
- AICP certification or equivalent, professional certification is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in urban planning, with a strong background in land use planning, zoning, and urban design.
- Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal planning regulations and processes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
