Job Overview
Responsible for bank reconciliations, state tax accruals and payments, fixed asset accounting, and assisting in the day-to-day maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and other general accounting functions.
The salary range for this position is $57,000 - $65,000 DOE (Depending on experience).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Handle bank reconciliations for multiple business’ operating accounts.
- Manage various state tax accruals, payments and compliance.
- Compile and reconcile annual fixed asset schedules.
- Reconcile sub-ledgers to GL as required.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with reconciling low to moderately complex general ledger accounts monthly including research and resolution of discrepancies.Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting schedules.Participate in month end, quarter end and year end closings.Comply with Internal controls and best practices and assist in other accounting projects as requested.Provide support to internal and external auditors during quarterly and year-end audits.Assists and advises the finance department and company personnel, as necessary, to ensure the successful performance of their assigned job duties and the company overall.Ability to analyze and interpret departmental needs and results.Ability to recognize and resolve complex financial problems.Responsible for completing assigned duties, paperwork, and reports in a timely manner.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in AccountingMinimum of 3 years of accounting experience.Possesses fast and accurate data entry skills.Understands and has ability to apply technical accounting concepts.Analytical thinking skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Knowledge of Great Plains a plus.Must be detail-oriented with the ability to resolve open items with problem-solving skills. Possesses the ability to meet and manage deadlines with accuracy.Requires above average proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.Ability and willingness to work flexible or longer hours when required for business needs, such as month-end, year-end, inventory, or major events.Physical Demands and Work Environment
