Job Summary:
We seek an experienced HVAC/Plumbing Design Supervisor to lead our engineering team in Honolulu, HI. This leadership role offers the chance to manage and enhance the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for large-scale commercial projects. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers, ensuring high-quality HVAC and plumbing system designs.
- Oversee the design process, including load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts for commercial construction projects.
- Work closely with project managers, construction teams, and clients to develop cost-effective and innovative mechanical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and training to support the professional development of team members.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in estimating, budgeting, and planning HVAC and plumbing system installations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing system design within commercial construction.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or ability to obtain licensure in Hawaii.
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and projects.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and mechanical design principles.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard software.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience working with design-build projects.
- LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable design.
- Familiarity with Hawaii-specific building codes and environmental regulations.
Location & Work Environment:
