Assistant Superintendent - Bedford Valley Golf Course

We are seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our dedicated groundskeeping team. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the pristine conditions of our championship golf courses, ensuring every round is an exceptional experience for our guests.

At Gull Lake View Golf Resort, we are committed to utilizing cutting-edge technology to elevate our operations. In 2024, we installed a brand-new state-of-the-art irrigation system to maintain our exceptional standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning and execution of daily course maintenance.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other related products.
• Train and supervise maintenance staff, providing leadership as needed.
• Collaborate with the Superintendent on budgeting, equipment maintenance, and project planning.
• Contribute to the development and execution of effective turf management programs.
• Monitor and address turf-related concerns such as disease, pests, and irrigation issues.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in Turf Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1-3 years of experience in golf course maintenance or a similar field.
• A Pesticide Applicator License (or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire).
• Strong knowledge of turf care, irrigation systems, and landscaping techniques.
• Experience operating and maintaining golf course equipment.
• Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and collaborate with a team effectively.
• The ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions in dynamic conditions.
• A passion for golf and a keen eye for maintaining pristine course conditions.
• The ability to work outdoors and manage physically demanding tasks.
