Role Description

In this Role:

The Catering & Sales Manager is responsible for leading our catering and sales efforts throughout the Gun

Lake Casino’s restaurants, bars, hotel rooms, meeting spaces and the Wawyé Oasis operations. The

incumbent will be responsible for managing the catering sales team, cultivating client relationships, and

coordinating catering operations within the casino environment. The incumbent also provides leadership and

strategic planning while responsible for increasing Food & Beverage, hotel room and any non-gaming revenue

opportunities.

Essential Qualifications:

• Must be 21 or older.

• Associate’s Degree or higher in Business Administration, Hotel & Restaurant Management or related field

required. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.

• Eight (8) years of catering sales experience in an upscale / AAA 4-Diamond hotel environment preferred.• Minimum three (3) years as a catering sales manager or five (5) years as an assistant sales manager having

full P&L responsibility preferred.

• Five (5) plus years in a casino or resort environment with a focus on guest service and hospitality

management required.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both

written and verbal form.

• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

• Demonstrates a high proficiency in written business communications in order to effectively present data

and analyses for operational improvements.

• Must demonstrate sound judgment and maturity in his or her decision-making ability, even when dealing

with difficult situations.

• Must possess and demonstrate great attention to detail in order to maintain the property’s appearance

and operating standards.

• Must have or be able to gain ServSafe Food Safety certification and TIPS Alcohol Awareness.

• Availability and willingness to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as business

requires.

• Must be able to obtain a gaming license for the jurisdiction in which the property is located.

• Practice teamwork, support fellow Team Members, and create an energized, positive, team-oriented work

environment.

• Interact with Guests in a friendly and courteous manner and handle all Guest opportunities.

• Must be able to effectively communicate both written and verbally with Guests, Team Members, and

Management.

• Maintain excellent grooming and uniform standards.

• Maintain a high level of personal integrity on and off duty.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction.

• Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters,

numbers, and symbols.

• Must have the manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, run, and climb stairs for the duration of shift.

• Must have the ability to access all properties and areas.

• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. with or without assistance.

• Ability to read, write and input data into the computer.

• Ability to stoop, crouch and kneel.

Work Conditions:

Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold and/or noisy and may contain second-hand

smoke. Work is typically in an office environment or out on the casino floor. Work may be performed in small

area with a 3 ft. wide access. Tasks performed from a sitting or non-sitting position. Performance of job

duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. These tasks include the

maintenance and care of assigned area. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Constant contact with

fellow Team Members and Guest.
