Gun Lake Investments is seeking a Grant Manager consultant to assist with key strategic economic development initiatives from January 2025 to December 2025. This role will work closely with Gun Lake Investments CEO and Senior Development Associate as well as the Tribal Government’s Grants, Planning and Management Departments; with a focus on real estate acquisition, market and feasibility studies, utilities and infrastructure development, and site readiness preparation.
Although this role will encompass a broad list of duties, it will primarily focus on sourcing and applying for new, relevant grant opportunities and assisting with existing grant management and compliance. Other duties include research, data collection, report writing, preparing correspondence, meeting preparation and attendance. This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven position where attention to detail and a high level of engagement is essential to success. This will be a remote position with a part time commitment, averaging 15-20 hours per week. Occasionally, in person work will be needed at the Gun Lake Investments office downtown Grand Rapids or at the Gun Lake Tribe in Wayland, MI.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead grant proposal development and submission—prepare and organize materials for proposals, and submitting and monitoring grant applications
- Research new funding and business development opportunities on a local, state, tribal and federal level
- Maintain and build relationships with funders and other strategic partners on a local, state, tribal and national level
- Draft proposals, LOIs, grant application narratives, and budgets and facilitate final timely error-free submission applications with relevant stakeholders
- Maintain master calendar of grants and grant opportunities and all associated files and correspondence
- Facilitate execution of grant contracts/agreements
- Maintain grant compliance and reporting, including outcome measurement and grant budgets—take responsibility for meeting high standards of effectiveness, timeliness, and completeness
- Monitor and maintain funder reporting schedules
- Draft progress reports and targeted program updates to stakeholders that capture grant impacts
- Communicate with stakeholders regarding the status of grant applications and grant management activities
- Development of presentations for various stakeholders
- Monitor compliance across all new and existing grants to ensure alignment with grant requirements
- Facilitate and participate in a variety of meetings, including quarterly grant meetings and grant kickoff meetings
- Develop and submit grant amendments as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
- Previous experience with grant management, reporting, compliance and proposal development preferred
- Must be proficient in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office 365 computer programs including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Able to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Problem-solving and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and accuracy in creating and editing content
- Demonstrated experience managing and coordinating resources and projects
- Excellent record-keeping skills
