Position Summary:
The Facilities Supervisor contributes to the effective overall operation of the Facilities Department, in meeting the 24-hour demands of a successful Casino Resort operation. This supervisory position oversees work performed by the Departments’ Engineers for an assigned shift and participation in work-related activity as needed and appropriate. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

In this Role:
- Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Gun Lake Casino Resort’s “Unsurpassed Service” standards at all times.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.
- Supervise and oversee job performance and work standards within the Facilities Department.
- Implement and enforce department rules, policies, and procedures on a daily basis.
- Assign and monitor daily and hourly work for a smooth flow of work assignments and department cooperation.
- Be familiar with all necessary computer systems including but not limited to electronic procurement systems, building automated systems, and computer maintenance systems.
- Initiate, enforce, and maintain the progressive discipline system.
- Follow proper procedures for ordering engineering parts for various jobs and projects on a timely basis.
- Maintain quality standards on all assigned work and special projects.
- Encourage and maintain clear and open communication. Coordinate jobs and projects through communication via radio and phone in an orderly and efficient manner.
- Prioritize according to the needs and in the best interest of the company and Facilities Department.
- Maintain a safe property-wide environment for Internal and External Guests by ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Ensure projects and daily assignments are completed accurately, timely, and in the most efficient manner.
- Responsible for completing performance appraisals for assigned personnel.
- Make recommendations concerning the hiring of engineering personnel.
- Prepare property for seasonal changes (heating, cooling, evaporative coolers, etc.).
- Anticipate needs for property contests, promotions, tournaments, special events, etc. (special fixtures, computer lines, phones, electrical, carpentry, etc.)
- Have knowledge of the MSDS booklet location for your area.
- Be familiar with OSHA safety codes regarding chemicals and electrical equipment.
- Ability to complete applicable paperwork.
- Ability to gather information from work orders, blueprints, and other documents.
- Knowledge of current building codes.
- Generate and review Facilities activity (HOTSOS) and other special reports.
- Generate and assist in engineering equipment quote evaluations, taking into account technical specs as well as commercial considerations.
- Conduct in-depth engineering analysis on equipment efficiencies and make appropriate recommendations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education preferred.
- Minimum (5) years of experience in a related area preferred with previous team interaction and experience.
- A working knowledge of machinery, switchgears, power equipment, and electrical distributors (kitchen equipment, generators, air conditioning, refrigeration, chillers, steam generators, plumbing, computer networking, phone systems, pools, pumps, motors, etc.).
- Ability to work all shifts, primarily graves.
- Ability to coordinate jobs and assign the best-qualified engineer to each task.
- Must have a valid driver’s license from the State of Michigan.
- Ability to supervise subordinates in an impartial and fair manner through interpersonal relationships.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters numbers, and symbols.
- May require prolonged standing. Requires bending, stooping, and reaching from floor level.
- Requires crawling in attic areas, climbing ladders and stairs.
- May require lifting, transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering large loads weighing up to 75 lbs with or without assistance.
- Requires hand/eye coordination and depth perception.
- Manual dexterity to operate hand and foot controls.
- Requires the ability to use and carry job-related equipment.
- Requires the ability to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, ben, kneel, crawl, and grasp.
- Requires the physical ability to stand and walk for the duration of shift.
Work Conditions:
Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, and/or noisy and may contain second-hand smoke. Work may be performed in small areas such as attics and high areas such as catwalks and roofs. Tasks may be performed from a non-sitting position. These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned areas. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests.
