What are the responsibilities and job description for the MD / DO Family Medicine with Obstetrics Core Faculty position at Gundersen Health System?
Be part of a thriving program dedicated to teaching the next generation of family medicine physicians. Gundersen Health System is seeking a Family Medicine Core Faculty member with obstetrics experience to join our passionate team. Must have a strong interest in teaching. We are looking to fill this position in the spring of 2025.
Responsibilities :
- Precept on average four to five half days per week in the residency clinic.
- See your own patients in clinic two to three half days per week.
- One half day per week of administration time.
- Four-day work week (unless on call / delivering).
- Participate in mentoring and didactic activities.
- Engage in educational activities such as simulation, procedural workshops, and other educational initiatives.
- Participate in academic interests such as research as deemed necessary by the Program Director.
- Attend regular faculty meetings.
- Be involved in the Clinical Competency Committee (evaluating residents) and our Program Evaluation Committee.
- Obstetrical call (q5-6), newborn and postpartum care.
Qualifications :
Prior teaching experience and faculty development training are preferred but not required. Must have completed an accredited graduate medical training program and be board certified or eligible within the area of medicine stated. In addition, must have or be able to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations. Medical staff in our system will supervise advanced practice clinicians. Medical staff may need to provide outreach service as part of their role in the system. Teaching students, residents, fellows, or clinical staff is cornerstone to our Medical Education philosophy and an expectation of all medical staff.
