What's Available:

• 0.2 FTE (8 hours per week).
• Scheduled Monday - Friday, one day per week.

What you will do:

• Perform a variety of purchasing functions including processing and expediting orders in a timely manner, delivery to departments, stock and restocking of materials.
• May float between medical center campus (Grant Blvd) and health care center campus (Shields Avenue).

What you need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in supply chain/ purchasing or related field

The Purchasing Assistant assists the Purchasing Agent to perform a variety of purchasing functions including processing and expediting orders in a timely manner. The Purchasing Assistant maintains the Materials Management System in relation to Purchasing.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for processing/expediting orders, and/or purchasing orders for materials and services within area of responsibility.

2. Responsible for coordinating the return of material goods to suppliers as needed.

3. Maintains the Materials Management System based on standards determined by management.

4. Supports the Purchasing Agents to communicate out of stock concerns, buyer message issues, assists with product substitution procurement, and other tasks as determined appropriate.

5. Assists in maintaining SOPS for the Purchasing Assistant work within the Purchasing Department to reflect current process and procedure.

6. Adheres to regular and predictable attendance.

7. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.

Education and Learning:

REQUIRED

High School Diploma or equivalency

DESIRED

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or two-year or higher education in related field

Work Experience:

REQUIRED

2 years or more experience in supply chain or related field

DESIRED

6 months or more experience in Lawson/Infor software
