Bucket Truck Foreman Summary
The Bucket Truck Foreman is a strong leader who can manage a crew effectively, operate equipment safely, and oversee tree trimming and removal operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful completion of projects while maintaining safety standards and delivering exceptional service to clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience operating a bucket truck (8 years preferred) and at least 2 years of climbing experience. The candidate must be flexible and able to travel within Georgia, depending on the location of the job.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Safely operate bucket trucks for tree trimming, removal, and maintenance.
- Perform equipment inspections to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Lead and manage a 6–8 man crew, ensuring tasks are assigned and safety standards are followed.
- Train and mentor crew members.
- Supervise tree service projects, ensuring quality work and client satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to coordinate work activities, manage job site operations, and ensure safe execution of tasks and adherence to safety standards.
- Inspect and maintain the bucket truck and related equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or other issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- 5 years bucket truck experience (8 years preferred) and 2 years climbing experience.
- Proven leadership managing a 6-8 person crew.
- Strong knowledge of tree care practices, including pruning, trimming, removal, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Ability to work at heights, in various weather conditions, and lift heavy materials.
- Follow safety protocols (PPE, OSHA regulations).
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
- Willingness to travel is a must.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in demanding conditions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 70 pounds to shoulder height
- Flexibility, including the ability to squat and bend
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods
- Ability to pull body weight up 20 feet and climb a tree
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and withstand extreme temperatures
- Must not exceed weight limitations for hydraulic buckets
