Job Summary:
The General Foreman is responsible for overseeing all tree care operations onsite, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards. They lead a team of arborists, tree workers, and ground crew, ensuring tasks such as tree pruning, removal, stump grinding, and emergency services are executed effectively.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Plan and allocate resources, including crew assignments, equipment, and materials for specific jobs.
- Manage crews, delegate tasks, maintain morale, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and company standards.
- Provide ongoing safety, productivity, and professional growth training.
- Understand and utilize specialized tree service equipment like chainsaws, chippers, bucket trucks, and climbing gear.
- Knowledge of ANSI and OSHA standards; conduct safety meetings and incident investigations.
- Guide and perform tree care tasks, such as climbing, trimming, and felling trees, often in hazardous conditions.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
- Ability to lead by example and maintain high safety standards.
- Must be able to work outside, frequently in any kind of weather.
- 5 years of tree care experience required.
- Must have excellent work ethic.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- ISA Certified Arborist status, and/or CDL highly desirable but not required.
