Requirements: To be seriously considered for this role, you’ll need to have:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required. Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive financial leadership experience in a hospital or healthcare system. Experience in critical access hospital finance preferred. Experience in a Colorado healthcare system preferred. Expertise in financial forecasting, capital financing, and strategic financial planning. Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement models, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers. Experience leading revenue cycle management and cost optimization initiatives. Demonstrated ability to advise executive leadership on financial strategies and industry trends. Experience leading teams across finance, patient financial services required and information technology and supply chain management preferred, while maintaining high employee engagement. Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Office Suite required.
Licenses/Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) preferred
Responsibilities: As the Chief Financial Officer at Gunnison Valley Health, you will play a crucial role in shaping the organization's financial future, ensuring long-term sustainability, and positioning the organization for growth. You will lead financial planning, budgeting, revenue cycle management, and compliance while providing strategic insights to drive organizational success. You’ll utilize your unique skills and ideas by:
- Serving as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO, providing insights on financial trends, payment system changes, and long-term financial sustainability.
- Developing and executing financial strategies that align with the organization’s mission and growth objectives.
- Leading financial forecasting, risk assessment, and investment strategies to ensure a strong financial position.
- Oversight of financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and audits.
- Managing and assuming overall responsibility for accounting functions, to include Accounts Payable, Payroll, General Ledger management for all of Gunnison Valley Health departments and entities (Hospital, Senior Care Center, Assisted Living, and Home Medical Services).
- Providing overall financial leadership for the Hospital and for the Senior Care Center, to include goal setting, quality, and performance measurement.
- Staying ahead of evolving healthcare payment models, regulatory changes, and reimbursement challenges.
- Directing and oversight of departments including Finance, Patient Financial Services, Information Technology, and Supply Chain Management
- Leading financial planning for capital projects, technology investments, and infrastructure improvements.
- Serving as the financial liaison to the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee.
- Fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within financial operations.
- Oversight of the strategic implementation of financial and information technology systems.
- Leading financial preparedness for emergencies, economic downturns, and unexpected financial challenges.
- Maintaining strong internal controls and financial transparency across the organization.
Compensation:
- $3527.86/weekly - $4586.23/weekly salary DOE

Short-term and long-term disability: All active employees working 60 or more hours per pay period are eligible for benefits on the first of the month after hire date.
