What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vehicle Mechanic (Full-Time, Year-Round) position at Gunstock Mountain Resort?
Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford, NH is looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Vehicle Mechanic to join our Operations team. In this position you will work with a team of dedicated and experienced mechanics who work to keep the resort’s fleet of vehicles and motorized, heavy equipment in top shape.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist with the repair and maintenance of the resort vehicle and equipment fleet including but not limited to: cars, trucks, snowmobiles, ATVs/UTVs, electric carts, generators, sanders, plows, generators, and lawn maintenance equipment. May also assist other mechanics with the repair and maintenance of construction equipment, specialized grooming track vehicles and equipment, and heavy-duty trucks and busses.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 years of age or older with good physical coordination, flexibility, balance and upper/lower body strength to allow twisting and turning of upper torso while handling components weighing up to 60lbs; ability to work in tight spaces; occasionally lift and carry up to 100 lbs; ability to work in variable outdoor weather conditions; ability to tolerate moderate amounts of dust, grit, hazardous materials and other vehicle related products/byproducts normally associated with mechanic work.
Scheduling
Position requires 40 hours per week; weekend and holiday availability required.

- High school diploma or equivalency; 3-5 years of technical training in the repair and maintenance of gasoline, diesel and electric engines; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong working knowledge of standard practices, methods, tools, materials and equipment of the automotive and mechanical trades
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems in various types of vehicles and equipment in the resort fleet while working independently
- Must be able to demonstrate basic welding and fabricating skills
- Ability to use and maintain bench and hand tools, machines and test equipment in a safe and effective manner
- Valid NH Driver's License required
