Estimator
Reports to: Operation Manager
Oversee project cost estimation, bid preparation, and planning to drive successful project execution with a focus on accuracy, communication, and adherence to company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of each project’s plans, budget, and specifications. Know cost codes, budget assumptions, and align with project goals.
- Review project documents, assess site conditions, and collaborate with COO and PM teams to establish clear project objectives.
- Identify contract risks, confirm compliance, and address scope changes with management.
- Use Bid2Win to develop accurate cost estimates, using historical data and detailed takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Collect and review quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and scope alignment.
- Complete bid packets at least two days before submission, focusing on accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate proactively with subcontractors, owners, and internal teams to clarify project needs, resolve uncertainties, and keep management updated.
- Address any bid challenges with management to ensure smooth project progress.
- Participate in Estimator/PM hand-off meetings to align on crew structure, equipment needs, and production goals.
- Provide layout support as needed and ensure all on-site work aligns with project specifications.
- Track production and budget adherence, discussing variances with the Superintendent and OM.
- Uphold quality standards by ensuring all work complies with project specifications.

- Organized Bid Preparation: Prepare all bid materials on time, minimizing last-minute issues and ensuring accuracy.
