Overview of Role :
The Senior Market Analyst is part of the Market Research & Analysis Team, delivering advanced analytics projects for different trading desks within Gunvor, based in Houston (TX), USA. He / She is responsible for providing high quality insights in the crude & products markets. The role will report to the Group Head of Research & Analysis.
Main Responsibilities :
- Assist the traders with ad hoc market analysis / insights.
- Build and maintain tools / dashboards to assist traders in their decisions making (Web App, Power BI, ...).
- Develop S&D models and analyze oil balances per country / region by selecting the most relevant data sources.
- Identifies the right set of models and develops the right code / package to execute them
- Evaluates the validity of the model (both scientifically as well as from a business perspective)
- Maintain S&D forecast models, ensuring data accuracy.
- Actively contribute to the development of a Group-wide fundamentals data warehouse.
- Articulate insights and recommendations (based on model output) to respective key stakeholders.
- Communicating technical jargon in plain English to colleagues and with traders.
- Develop systematic trading strategies for the Oil Market.
- Prepare various reports and analysis for publishing internally
