Job Summary:
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the exterior appearance of Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa. This role ensures that the resort’s landscaping, walkways, and outdoor areas remain clean, safe, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for maintaining high-quality outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain all resort grounds, including landscaping, gardens, pathways, parking areas, and beachfront areas.
• Perform routine lawn care, including mowing, edging, trimming, watering, and fertilizing.
• Plant, prune, and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees to enhance the resort’s visual appeal.
• Remove weeds, debris, and litter from outdoor areas to maintain cleanliness.
• Perform seasonal duties such as snow and ice removal, leaf raking, and holiday decorations.
• Assist with irrigation system maintenance and ensure proper watering schedules.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and power tools.
• Perform minor repairs on outdoor fixtures, pathways, and resort signage.
• Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to address any outdoor facility issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and report any hazards or concerns to management.
• Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a welcoming and well-kept outdoor environment for guests.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or outdoor maintenance preferred.
• Basic knowledge of horticulture, irrigation systems, and grounds care.
• Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, walking, and standing for long periods.
• Team player with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Comfortable working with and operating landscaping tools and heavy equipment.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and sustain physical activity for extended periods.
