Job Summary:
The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing exceptional massage and body treatments to guests, ensuring the highest level of customer service and professionalism. This role requires delivering personalized treatments, maintaining a clean and inviting work environment, and supporting the spa's overall operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of massage techniques, including but not limited to Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, prenatal, and aromatherapy massages.
- Assess guest needs and recommend appropriate treatments.
- Uphold the highest standards of sanitation and cleanliness within the treatment rooms and spa areas.
- Provide a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for guests.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of spa services, products, and promotions to upsell treatments and retail products.
- Ensure proper setup and breakdown of treatment rooms, including sanitizing tools and replenishing linens and supplies.
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations.
- Collaborate with other spa team members to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Attend mandatory trainings and staff meetings.
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Massage Therapy License.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a luxury spa or hospitality setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various massage techniques and body treatments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical stamina to perform treatments and stand for extended periods.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Dexterity and strength to perform repetitive massage movements.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required for treatments.
- Comfortable working in a humid spa environment.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- $60.00-$80.00 per hour
