JOB SUMMARY
The EDI Technician is a result driven individual focusing on the daily inbound/outbound EDI tasks related to Client EDI. The technician also reviews documents and works closely with the Technology Team. Other responsibilities would include inbound data into both data management systems. Provides customer service and resolutions in a timely manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate and upload EDI updates as receiver and sender
- Importing new claims, maintenance files, media.
- Reviewing and acknowledging new claims
- Exporting claims and importing scrub vendor results
- Communicates with Attorney for Final review
- Setting up and entering manual claims (Data Entry)
- Scanning documents and verifying scans reached system
- Importing information
- Review requests to add/remove individuals to/from a claim, add/update social security numbers, etc.
- Working with coordinators and clients to resolve problems
- Setting up new forwarders/clients
- Respond to customer issues via phone, email and computer chat
- Provide customer assistance
- Document customer interactions
- Escalate issues to the next tier with next level of difficulty
- Coordinate work activities with management
- Provide daily and weekly status updates as required
- Maintains quality of service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Obtain a general overview of all other departments within the Firm and be able to function/communicate effectively within the departments and provide business analysis.
- Maintain industry leading data security and retention practices
- Communicate all relevant IT events and issues with appropriate staff regularly and efficiently
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Data Entry
- Proficiency with Microsoft Products
- Advanced skills in Excel
- Familiarity with ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes
- Team oriented, driven to help and mentor other team members
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Detail oriented to document detailed notes on tickets
- Highly organized
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic computer technical issues
- Sharp assessment skills with the ability to decipher “wants” versus “needs” and comfortable negotiating prioritization accordingly
- Self-organize and experience driving cross-functional efforts with external teams
- See a problem or opportunity, take ownership and act on it independently
ASSETS
- Law Firm experience is a plus
