AS400 Programmer

Experienced RPG programmer analyst for industrial distributor with fully integrated custom business applications running on an IBM i (AS400, iSeries). Requires ability to maintain, update, and modernize existing business applications; develop and implement new business applications; interface with third party business applications as necessary. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Good communication and presentation skills. Good attitude and self-motivated. Ability to work with all aspects of business operations: sales, purchasing, warehouse and inventory management, financial (A/R, A/P, G/L). Ability to both collaborate and work independently. Ability to represent the company in a professional manner. Requirements: Proficient in RPG and associated programming: RPG, RPGLE, free-form, SQLRPGLE, CL and commands, DDS, subfiles, service programs and sub procedures. Database management and concepts: DB2, SQL, Query. Intersystem connectivity: IFS, FTP on demand and automating, mapped network drives, data transfer between different internal or external platforms and/or applications. 5250 connectivity: Client Access, Access Client Solutions, RUMBA. Not a network manager position, but working knowledge of LAN and IP concepts a plus. Knowledge of RPG-based special forms printing (AFPDS, page segments, overlays) a plus. Knowledge of bar-coding solutions (TL Ashford or RPG-based) and associated bar code printer connectivity a plus. Ability to work with IBM on system updates (PTFs, OS updates, etc). Working knowledge of EDI concepts and structure a plus. Would prefer 100% onsite, could be open to remote for right person. MUST BE AN AS400 GURU.
