Set on a 36-acre campus in Commack, NY, the Gurwin Healthcare System includes the 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, memory care, respiratory and ventilator care, palliative and hospice care, social and medical adult day programs, and on-site dialysis and infusion therapy. Sharing the campus is Gurwin’s Assisted Living community (Gurwin Jewish : Fay J. Lindner Residences), our independent living community (Fountaingate Gardens) and Gurwin Certified and Licensed Home Care Services Agencies.

We are currently seeking a full-time RN Supervisor/Nursing Care Coordinator (NCC) for our day shift who will embody the passion and commitment required to deliver the ultimate care for our residents. You will be scheduled to work 7:00am-3:15pm with a rotating weekend/holiday schedule.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinating direct nursing services to patients in collaboration with unit staff and also for coordinating nursing personnel services.
• The Supervisor in this role functions in both a managerial and clinical role and assures adherence to and support of institutional philosophy and policy in nursing practice. Through collaboration with other disciplines and with nursing colleagues on other shifts, the Supervisor promotes continuity of approach in both the managerial and clinical areas.
• Candidate will assume administrative duties, maintain levels of nursing staffing and be responsible for patient care requirements through-out the facility.
• Occasional coverage for the night shift is required.
  
  
  

Requirements include:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York
• Progressive experience in Nursing Administration
• Strong leadership and administrative ability
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
