Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Employment Status: Full-Time
Classification: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM Monday-Thursday, able to work overtime as needed.
Reports to: Quality Control Supervisor
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Pay: $19.00/hour $0.50/hour shift differential
Position Summary: The Quality Control (QC) Technician is responsible for accurately testing and approving incoming raw materials and manufactured products, according to standard procedures and specifications. Ensures quality through testing and inspecting at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality.
Essential Functions:
- Performs all quality control tests on raw materials and manufactured products in a timely and accurate manner per established guidelines and frequencies.
- Performs quality control tests and inspections on device production (First Piece Inspection).
- Performs in-process audits throughout the course of the shift to verify compliance to both internal procedures and customer specifications.
- Contribute to laboratory cleanliness and biohazard removal.
- Collects raw material, validation, in-process and finished product samples for analytical testing.
- Calibrates, cleans, and maintains laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Ensures the QC support in Manufacturing (Environment Monitoring) and cleaning verification/validation process.
- Participates in Outside of Specification (OOS) investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action development.
- Maintains laboratory inventory.
- Follows established health and safety procedures and policies.
Other Duties
- Assists production, R&D, and Engineering departments when required.
- Assists validations, studies and routine tests product development.
- Assists and coordinates the samples sent to external laboratory for testing.
- Performs other Quality Control Technician duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements
- Highschool Diploma/GED required.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Some laboratory experience such as pipetting, measuring, and caliper preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s) Required
- Knowledge of analytical and quality control test methods.
- Knowledge of the proper use and preparation of chemicals and reagents.
- Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions.
- Knowledge of Food Safety, Pharmacopeia’s and/or Regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of effective, safe laboratory, and experimental procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong laboratory testing skills.
- Ability to self-motivate and work without direct supervision.
- Strong ability to analyze data and results is required.
- Strong multi-tasking ability is required
- Ability to use Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, other computer programs, and technology.

Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Acute hearing is necessary for telephone and in-person communication with customers and fellow employees, and visual acuity sufficient to read a computer screen and paper documents.
Working Conditions
This position typically functions in a combination of an office and plant environment; there will be exposure to moderate noise levels, fumes, dust, chemicals, heat/cold, and allergens especially in plant/warehouse environment.
