Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee beverages and serving food items while providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of coffee preparation techniques, food safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This is a tipped position in a high volume restaurant.
Duties
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, teas, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Operate the Aloha POS system for order processing and cash handling.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace, including equipment, utensils, and dining areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices.
- Engage with customers to provide a welcoming atmosphere, take orders accurately, and address any inquiries or concerns.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, pastries, and other supplies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Utilize retail math skills to manage transactions effectively and handle cash register operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with coffee preparation techniques and knowledge of various coffee types is a plus.
- Proficiency in using POS systems, particularly Aloha POS, is advantageous.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
- Understanding of food safety standards and practices related to food handling.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor towards customers and team members.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
