Job Summary

Guth DeConzo is continuing to grow and is actively seeking highly motivated Mid-level and Senior-level Electrical Engineers for employment in our Troy, NY office.

As a member of a design team a candidate will be expected:

·      Self-motivated, solution oriented, organized, driven, critical thinker that is team focused, while being capable of independent detailed work.

·      Able to perform a wide array of design functions including equipment selection, system sizing, load calculations, product specifications, and design layouts for electrical systems.

·      Able to prepare electrical design calculations, develop drawings, formulated technical specifications and create technical reports for review and submission.

·      Capable of in field audits, surveying existing conditions, and recording information about building components, including lighting, switchgear, motors and other electrical equipment.

·      Familiarity and/or proficiency with electrical design software, short circuit analysis and other complex engineering tasks, a plus.

·      Able to coordinate, support and communicate with colleagues across disciplines and receive direction from project leads.

·      Demonstrate the ability to research and apply building code, energy, regulatory and industry code requirements

·      Regional overnight travel is required, approximately 15-20% of time.

·      Mid-level engineers are encouraged to lead projects and influence the technical design solutions on projects.

·      Senior-level engineers are expected to have experience leading projects and mentoring team members to influence the technical design solutions on projects.

Minimum Requirements

·      Proficient with spreadsheets, word processing and standard office software (MS Excel, Word)

·      Candidate should be familiar to proficient with technical drafting using AutoCAD, and have proficient knowledge of lighting and calculation programs.

·      Mid-Level Engineer shall demonstrate 3 to 8 years’ of electric design experience and a portfolio of successful projects.

·     Senior-Level Engineer shall demonstrate 8 to 15 years’ of electric design experience, leading a project team and a portfolio of successful projects.

·      Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related experience. PE Licensure in the State of New York, CEM, and LC, or interest in acquiring them, a plus.

·      Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) a plus.
