As a Newly Licensed Registered Nurse (NLRN) at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team working towards optimal wellness for assigned patients. You will utilize a holistic systems approach to protect and promote client wellness and safety in various domains.
Key responsibilities include employing Nursing Professional Practice by assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. You will also advocate for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning to promote autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs of those we serve.
You will participate in the planning and presentation of educational programs and demonstrate leadership as change agents using collaborative leadership skills. Additionally, you will work with a wide range of staff, including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff, to integrate nursing knowledge and provide high-quality patient care.
This role ends on the one-year anniversary of your hire date, at which time you will transition to the role of Staff Registered Nurse. You may occupy a Staff Registered Nurse position after the matching process but are still considered an NLRN for the first year of practice.
