Position Summary :

This position is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the ANSOS system including the manual update and maintenance of data, downloading from ANSOS to the payroll system, data backup and troubleshooting ANSOS system problems. This position serves as a resources to nursing managers and clinical coordinators to maintain adequate staffing throughout the Department of Nursing as determined by unit algorithm, census, acuity and communication. This individual may perform duties or have knowledge of information that is of a sensitive and confidential nature. Other responsibilities include utilization of excel and ATA for data tracking and reporting for Nursing as well as for NDNQI. This position is also the centralized hub for all Guthrie entities for web scheduler and ANSOS.

Experience :

Experience with staffing and scheduling in an acute care setting preferred.

Education :

High school diploma or GED required.

Essential Functions :

1. Compiles data for and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports, analyses and statements as requested. Reconciles payroll with actual time worked. Maintains appropriate records, reports, and files as required.

2. Demonstrates adherence to the Values of Robert Packer Hospital of patient centeredness, excellence and teamwork. Share knowledge and skills with peers and colleagues by recognizing and utilizing opportunities to teach other staff members, participating in orientation of new employees and collaborating with faculty in clinical experiences for healthcare students. Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning by assessing and identifying personal learning needs, developing and completing a plan to maintain skills and competence in role performance. Participate in performance improvement activities to initiate changes in practice and in the healthcare delivery system. Participate in efforts to minimize costs and unnecessary duplication of processes. Handle diverse workload and exercise individual judgement within limits of standard practice. Demonstrate the ability to be self directed and to be able to multi‐task.

3. In collaboration with Nurse Manager / Clinical Coordinator determines actual staff needed for identified shifts based on staffing guidelines, available census, and unit algorithm. Reallocates staff to alternative units based on need, availability, and reallocation guidelines. Assists the Nursing Division Manager (or designee) in securing staffing esources for the various nursing units. Informs and / or solicits guidance or assistance with unusual or difficult staffing and scheduling issues from Nursing Division Manager. Reviews staffing guidelines on an annual basis with the appropriate Nursing Division Manager.

4. Responsible for the daily operation of the ANSOS system. Manual update and maintenance of data. Download data from ANSOS to the payroll system. Data back ups. Troubleshooting problems with Information Systems and Per SeeReset and update the ANSOS system at established time each month.
