What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at GVB Biopharma?
It is the job of the custodian to keep the buildings clean and sanitary. As part of that goal, the custodian will complete many different cleaning tasks. The custodian will be in charge of restocking restroom supplies and ensuring that the bathrooms remain clean and sanitary. Some of your other tasks will include the collection, disposal, and recycling of trash and waste throughout the buildings according to regulatory guidelines, and cleaning up spills when they occur.
Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls
- Vacuum, sweep and mop floors
- Dust furniture and fixtures
- Clean and maintain restrooms
- Washing and clean windows and mirrors
- Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones
- Restock supplies in the restroom and ensure that it remains sanitary
- Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
- Clean up spills and other messes as they arise
- Familiarity with safe disposal of chemical liquids and hazardous components
- Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions
- Operate floor scrubbers and other equipment
- *All other duties as assigned*
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Previous experience in a similar role is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with basic cleaning equipment, products, and techniques
- Physical ability to remain standing for most of your shift
- Dependable and Flexible
- Good communication skills
- Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces
- Good organizational skills
- Good documentation practices
- Knowledge of GMP and safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and document cleaning activities
- Familiar with SDS
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods
