This position will work both in collaboration with a team and independently. Will report to the IT Director of Applications and Data Services in IT and partner with Institutional Research and internal business units. Will initiate and respond to communications regarding business report requirements, data requirements, and report building. Will make decisions on method of reporting and lead clients in best practices. Will manage workload to meet deadlines and communicate with supervisor to delegate or organize workload if necessary. Works closely with stakeholders, including department heads, managers, and end-users, to gather report requirements. This includes understanding the key performance indicators (KPIs), data sources, desired report formats, business procedures, and frequency of reporting. The analyst also ensures alignment with business goals and operational processes. Conducts meetings with stakeholders to collect detailed reporting requirements. Identifies the scope and objectives of the report. Determines data sources, such as Anthology Student, D365 Finance and Operations, SQL databases, or external systems. Extracts, cleans, and analyzes the data to ensure it aligns with the report's objectives. This includes working with data from D365 Finance and Operations, proprietary systems, or other database sources. The analyst ensures the data is accurate, reliable, and properly structured before being visualized or presented in a report. Extracts data from relevant systems (e.g., D365, SQL, or proprietary sources). Performs data cleansing to remove errors, inconsistencies, and duplicates. Integrates data from multiple sources to create a unified dataset. Performs data transformations (e.g., aggregating, filtering, or grouping) to meet the report’s requirements. Develops reports or dashboards using tools like D365 Finance and Operations, Power BI, custom views within proprietary systems, or other required data reporting mechanisms. This involves selecting the appropriate reporting tools and platform, designing the layout, and ensuring the data is visualized in a way that is clear and actionable for the stakeholders. Designs and builds reports in tools like D365 Finance and Operations, Power BI, or custom reporting solutions. Creates interactive dashboards with filters and drill-down capabilities for dynamic analysis. Implements data visualizations such as graphs, charts, tables, and maps to present complex data in an easily digestible format. Tests and validates reports to ensure they accurately reflect the business requirements and data. Ensures ongoing accuracy, relevance, and performance of built and deployed reports. This includes optimizing report performance, making adjustments based on user feedback, and troubleshooting any issues that arise. Additionally, the analyst supports users in interpreting the data and makes updates as needed for evolving business needs. Monitors report performance and optimize queries and data sources to ensure fast load times. Updates reports as needed to reflect changing business requirements, new data sources, or updated KPIs. Provides training and support to end-users on how to read, interpret, and act upon reports. Troubleshoots and resolves any technical or data-related issues that arise with the reports or dashboards. Ensures data security and compliance with organizational standards and regulations.
Physical office presence required. Some after hours may be required for system updates and maintenance. May need to travel for conferences or training.
