Job Description:
· The Company Process Development and Manufacturing Implementation Team is looking for a contractor with an engineering or technical background and 0 – 5 years’ experience to support an exciting new project at our Burlington, MA location.
· This position will be responsible to support several technical manufacturing processes in a small-scale fast-paced development production environment.
· Primary responsibilities will include analyzing and reporting production data, conducting technical experiments, troubleshooting process equipment, supporting process improvement activities, documenting process specifications and generating standard operating procedures.
· This position partners closely with numerous internal business functions such as, Process Engineering, Beverage Product Development, Productivity and Continuous Improvement, Quality, and Technical Services Operations.
What you will do:
· Work directly with R&D Engineering, Beverage Development and the Technical Services teams
· Become proficient in technical processes and equipment, such as coffee roasting and grinding, as well as other innovative and exciting processes and quality and analytical measurement tools
· Analyze multiple categories of production and quality data, using statistical data analysis for data-driven decision making
· Develop reports and metrics that drive continuous process improvements and technology/innovation development
· Provide hands-on technical troubleshooting support for processes and equipment within a small-scale manufacturing environment
· Document process changes, create Standard Operating Procedures and generate or amend process specifications
· Lead and/or support testing and experiments for product and process innovations
Requirements:
· B.S. in an engineering or equivalent technical discipline, 0 - 5 years of experience.
· Knowledge of or willingness to learn processes such as roasting, grinding, flavoring, weighing, systems, blending, mixing, and powders processing
· Knowledge of design requirements related to food safety, including SQF, FDA, GMP
· Knowledge and experience with intermediate-level statistical analysis and associated software; primarily MS Excel.
· Experience with statistical analysis software such as JMP or Minitab a plus
· Ability to effectively research issues which span multiple disciplines
· Excellent ability to present broad and detailed information to key stakeholders
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Ability to be self-driven, works independently and has strong communication and organizational skills
· Ability to work on the factory floor in a high paced manufacturing environment
· Positive attitude with ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth, and fast changing environment
· May be asked to work over-time on occasion
Job Type: Contract
Pay: Up to $33.00 per hour
