Overview:
GW Lisk Island Components division designs and manufactures an array of motion control products including but not limited to Motors, Actuators, Brakes, Clutches and Controllers.
This Quality Engineer position will support manufacturing operations and customer requests. The Quality Engineer is responsible to approach problem solving with the DMAIC mind set using structured problem solving techniques and tools. Proficient use of Microsoft Excel to drive tables and statistical charts/graphs is expected. The Quality Engineer is responsible to effectively present data and findings to all levels of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
- Prepare quality documentation by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Lead QE on inspection reduction/elimination tasks and projects
- Provide statistical support analysis in production and machining operations.
- Successfully calibrate with operations, engineering, supplier quality and other Lisk functions to reduce/eliminate production/part defects
- Create Inspection plans and FAIR per customer and internal requirements.
- Determine conformance to specifications and disposition of nonconforming material
- Interfaces with internal manufacturing as well as supply base to ensure robust processes are in place
- Successfully interface with customers
- Approve manufacturing routes prior to release and after changes
- Use ERP system and QMS system 1Factory to support Island deliverables and quality.
- Use of 5-why, DMAIC, Ishikawa in problem solving to establish root-cause and corrective actions
- Recommend modifications to improve products and processes
- Reads and interprets technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
- Facilitates root cause analysis and problem solving
- Has an active role in internal and external auditing
- Support Quality team where needed
- Observes all safety rules and maintains a foreign object damage (FOD) free work area. Ensures all equipment is calibrated in accordance with calibration schedule
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical-, Electrical-, Manufacturing-, Industrial Engineering or Quality related fields. At a minimum a 2 year degree in the above fields
- A minimum of 1-5 years of working experience in Quality Engineering
- Experience in manufacturing of components (i.e. ; Machining, Injection Molding, Metal fabrication stampings, plating)
- Experienced with MS Excel
- Working Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and inspection practices.
- Competent Knowledge of ISO9001/IATF 16949, AS9100, AIAG, and APQP Process
- Strong Statistical Process Control and Statistical Techniques
- Knowledge of LEAN / Six Sigma Techniques
- Should have a passion for quality, problem solving, process improvement, and customer satisfaction
- Must work with a sense of urgency
Compensation: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 annual base salary based experience
