What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Biller/Payment Poster position at GW Medical Billing Services?
Currently looking for someone with at least 2 years experience in Medical Billing. Must be able to 10 key by touch, true knowledge in ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT codes. Must know how to understand how to read EOB’s/ERA’s to post; know how to check eligibility and understand what the patients insurance benefits are and who is the correct insurance to bill. Lastly, must have experience in following up on claims with insurances, knowing what are the correct questions to ask and how to do an appeal if needed.
Job Duties will include but limited to the following:
· Will be a payment poster (EOB’s/ERA’s), it is very important to know how to read an insurance payment or denial and what to do if it’s a denial.
· Verifying patient eligibility online or by calling, understanding the difference between an HMO or PPO. Understanding the patient’s copay, coinsurance, and deductible.
· Follow up on insurance claims (What questions are needed to get the answer you need from the insurance company when calling or viewing online)
· Able to appeal claims to an insurance company.
· Knowing how to bill office visits and telehealth claims.
· Complete your daily task each day.
· Able to think outside of the box – this is very important with doing this job.
· Productivity equals volume of payments /claims entered per day, this is extremely important.
This is an in-person job Monday and Wednesday 9:30am – 5:30pm, Tuesday and Thursday 9am – 5pm. Fridays are optional when time premits.
Pay rate: $20.00 an hour.
