The Georgia World Congress Center is currently seeking a Communications Officer to join our Public Safety team. The Communications Officer shall complete day to day work assignments as delegated by the Communications Supervisor or Manager to include but not limited to: Dispatching Police & Security Radio, Completion of security log reports, logging assignment of keys, answering telephones, typing, filing, copying, and responding to emergencies and such other functions and duties as required by the Communications Officer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dispatch police and security calls promptly and effectively.
- Conduct surveillance of the interior and exterior facility through the closed-circuit TV system, and patrol duties as required.
- Direct and redirect incoming calls.
- Operate Dispatch Window-Security logs, key logs, radio distribution.
- Operate two-way radios, voice pagers, and radio base station equipment.
- Perform as a point of information to the general public.
- Maintain public image with customers and general public within the Georgia World Congress Center.
- Operate computer aided dispatch system and NCIC/GCIC computer terminal.
- Such other duties, functions, special projects as assigned by the Communications Supervisor.

- Ability to satisfactorily complete up to 3 months of on the job training
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum high school education or General education (GED)
- One (1) year experience in security or related function preferred
- Dispatch experience a plus
- Must obtain required P.O.S.T./NCIC/GCIC training certification within six (6) months of employment
- Must possess a valid Georgia Drivers License
