The Savannah Convention Center is currently seeking part-time Custodians to join our family! Be a part of our team at the 330,000 square foot Savannah Convention Center currently undergoing an expansion located directly across from historic Savannah and on the Savannah River.
The part-time Custodian shall be responsible for performing routine duties and completing requirements associated with the day-to-day activities of Facility Operations. Duties include but are not limited to: manual labor, performing routine housekeeping duties, operating mechanical equipment, policing public areas and such other duties and functions as required by the Operations Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a professional image that represents the philosophy of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority with emphasis upon providing the highest level of customer service deemed possible.
- Clean floors, glass, mirrors, stainless steel, chromed surfaces, painted surfaces, plastic surfaces, porcelain, Formica, woodwork, etc.
- Monitor and clean exit stairwells, loading docks and service streets, passenger and freight elevators.
- Monitor and clean restrooms, public areas and inner offices.
- Vacuum and shampoo carpets.
- Maintain equipment by following established procedures.
- Maintain all storage rooms in a clean and orderly manner.
- Notify Operations Manager of supplies requiring replenishment.
- Assist with upkeep of grounds as required.
- Supervise the activities of part-time custodians as requested.
- Perform other duties, functions, special projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Basic facility cleaning / custodial techniques and materials.
- Basic principles and procedures of record keeping.
- Safe work methods and safety practices
- English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation.
- High degree of integrity, compliance, and self-awareness
- Ability to communicate effectively, prioritize tasks, and manage workload under pressure and with limited resources
- Ability to work an irregular work schedule as required to perform duties and responsibilities including weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Interact with internal and external customers in a professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction
- Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions, make routine decisions independently, sustain long periods of light to moderately heavy physical activity, and work harmoniously with others.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Experience in providing service directly to customers is preferred.
- Must have the ability to demonstrate basic cleaning techniques.
- Must have experience or training in providing quality customer service.
