The Georgia World Congress Center is currently seeking a Sales Manager to join our team. The Sales Manager reports to the Director of Convention Sales. This position will play an important role in our organization working in all sectors 700 peak rooms and below.  Our ideal candidate will be a driven, strategic individual with an understanding of convention business, the city of Atlanta, and an overall understanding of the GWCCA campus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own accounts in all markets (with filming as a vertical market)

• Maintain and update relationships with existing and potential clients

• Maintain relationships with internal and external partners

• Manage high volume of incoming leads from prospect to proposal to close

• Strong follow up skills for closing of business

• Some travel

• Collaborate with team on incoming business

• Strategic placement of business to maximize use of space and drive revenue

• Strategic alignment of all details to create competitive proposals

• Prepare and present presentations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

• Strong knowledge of sales as it pertains to the hospitality industry—specifically in the convention center and hotel space

• Ability to prioritize tasks & to manage workload using own initiative

• Ability to multi-task & work under pressure with limited resources

• Ability to close business and build relationships

• Ability to communicate with all levels within an organization

• Ability to speak publicly

• Motivated, professional with a high degree of integrity and compliance

• Thoroughness in task approach, follow-up & completion;

• Excellent computer skills

• Self-awareness

• Research and interpret relevant information from a range of sources

• Previous sales market success and strong relationships

• Use appropriate technology to find and process information

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor degree with emphasis in marketing, sales, business or related fields

• Must have a minimum of three (3) years of  sales experience within convention, hotel, hospitality, multi-purpose facility in the tourism industry

• Must be willing to travel
