Purpose :
This position is directly responsible for processing the bi-weekly payroll for all Library staff according to established processing schedules. In addition, this position provides payroll related support for all Library employees, participates in user training, and assists with system upgrade testing initiatives. This position provides support to the CFO, Business Services Manager and the Business Services Department in carrying out the responsibilities of the Business Services unit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Evaluate and recommend revisions to Payroll policies, procedures, processes, and work assignments as appropriate.
Administer and process payroll on a bi-weekly basis
Maintain and perform processing task list
Maintain processing documentation according to department standards
Provide payroll support to all Library employees
Answer employee questions and concerns via phone or email
Support requests from various vendor partners
Participate in system testing as required for software / hardware upgrades, implementations, and integrations
Participate in system training efforts
Apply and manage garnishments
Administer and report on grants made to the Library
Provide administrative support for annual budget preparation and management
Continuously monitor daily duties for efficiency
Perform other tasks as assigned by the CFO or Business Services Manager
Work closely with the Benefits Coordinator to ensure employee contributions are accurate.

Ability To :
Ability to move through approximately 45,000 square foot building
Light physical effort required to frequently and repetitively lift or move lightweight parts and materials
Regularly lift and / or move up with 10 pounds, occasionally lifting and / or move up to 40 pounds
Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands’ and arms’ length, stoop, kneel, and crouch
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in fast paced environment
Ability to work successfully in a team environment
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously and accept job assignments from employees other than immediate supervisor
Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :
High school diploma required
College degree preferred with concentration in business or accounting
Degree(s) must be from a credible college or university
Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Payroll modules preferred
Three years of previous payroll processing experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above with or without a reasonable accommodation.
