What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aquatic Facility Maintenance Associate II position at Gwinnett County?
This Aquatic Facility Maintenance Associate will be responsible for janitorial and maintenance duties at year-round aquatic facilities. Additionally, this position will regularly maintain pool water chemistry in accordance with State and County Health Department mandates. This position will be scheduled to work Monday - Friday, starting at 4:00am.
Essential Duties
- Daily cleaning of the facilities locker room and bathrooms
- Cleaning the pool decks
- Vacuuming separate swimming pools
- Sanitizing locker room floors
- Maintaining chemical and cleaning supply inventories
Grade
The grade for this position is A13(2). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Education or GED AND
- Two years of grounds, custodial, or facilities maintenance experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
- Valid driver's license
- CPR certification
- Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire
- Must be able to swim the length of a regulation swimming pool

The County Administrator and County Attorney are appointed by the Board of Commissioners and serve at its pleasure. The 14 departments that make up the executive side are Police Services, Fire and Emergency Services, Corrections, Communications, Support Services, Financial Services, Community Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Law, Planning and Development, Water Resources, Child Advocacy & Juvenile Services, and Transportation.
