What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Shop Services Supervisor position at Gwinnett County?
The Auto Services Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Automotive Light, Heavy or Fire Services Repair shop. This role supervises a team of automotive technicians to ensure completion of preventive and corrective maintenance. The incumbent will monitor labor productivity, materials usage, and various reports.
Essential Duties
- Supervises daily operations of the shop and oversee daily operations, resources, and facilities
- Reconciles vendor invoices daily and prioritizes issuance
- Assists Fleet Manager and Division Director to maximize efficiency and productivity
- Provides technical procedures in accordance with manufacturer and technical guidelines
- Serves as a liaison between the auto shop and other County departments; communicates and interacts with department liaisons, vendors, and operators
- Analyzes and reviews vehicle repair information
- Prepares vehicle repair requests for external vendors
- Assists with troubleshooting complex vehicle malfunctions
- Performs quality control checks on work performed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Other Job Requirements/Information
- This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
- This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
Grade
The grade for this position is B32(2). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D AND
- Seven years of progressively responsible supervisory and light and heavy equipment/vehicle maintenance and repair experience OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
- Valid driver's license from state of residency
- ASE Master Tech Certification in area of assignment
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
- Supervisory experience
- Commercial Driver's License, preferred
- A/C Recycle Recovery Certificate within six months of hire
