What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Insurance Coordinator position at Gwinnett OB-GYN Associates?
Responsible for working with insurance companies to verify patient's benefits as well as calculating and collecting outstanding payments from patients.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITY*:
- Knowledge of medical practice and care
- Verifying patient’s health insurance benefits and create written patient OB contracts
- Communicate directly with patients regarding deductibles, coinsurance, self-pay and special arrangements
- Monitor weekly, monthly and quarterly accounts confirming paid and unpaid contracts
- Ability to use good reasoning and judgement and react calmly in emergency situations
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and coworkers
- Ability to complete clerical task in a timely manner
- Participate in staff and educational meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High-school graduate or GED
- Minimum of 2 years in a medical office environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient with data entry
- Microsoft Office experience (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, EHR)
- Knowledge of OB/GYN medical procedures and insurance billing codes
SKILLS:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must possess the ability to make decisions and problem solve
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.72 per hour
