Part-Time Faculty, Respiratory Care Program
The Frances M. Maguire College of Nursing and Health Professions at Gwynedd Mercy University invites applications for a part-time faculty position in the Respiratory Care Program. This nine-month position begins in August 2025, with academic rank and salary commensurate with education and teaching experience.
Responsibilities:
The part-time faculty member will work closely with the Program Coordinator and Director of Clinical Education to support the Respiratory Care Program. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Program Coordinator in ensuring effective program operations.
- Conducting structured visits to clinical sites to oversee students' clinical education.
- Teaching program courses, preparing course materials, and evaluating student progress.
- Participating in curriculum review and updates.
- Engaging in accreditation and assessment processes.
- Staying informed about program policies, procedures, and student progress.
- Pursuing ongoing professional development in the field and in educational methodologies.
- Maintaining expertise and competence in the discipline.
- Attending program and college-wide faculty meetings.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Active license to practice Respiratory Care in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Current membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Preference for candidates with NBRC specialty credentials.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in respiratory care.
- Experience in curriculum development, instruction, student evaluation, and academic advising.
