What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professor, Undergraduate Nursing position at Gwynedd Mercy University?
The Frances M. Maguire College of Nursing and Health Professions at Gwynedd Mercy University invites applications for a full-time, tenure or non-tenure track undergraduate nursing faculty position. This 9-month appointment begins in January 2025. Rank and salary will be commensurate with education and teaching experience.
The preferred candidate will demonstrate evidence of teaching effectiveness and a commitment to undergraduate BSN education. Expertise in nursing education, particularly in the areas of medical-surgical, critical care, and/or pharmacology, is highly sought.
Responsibilities:
The faculty member will work closely with the BSN and ABSN/WBSN Coordinators to support the BSN Program. Responsibilities include teaching in-person, hybrid, and/or online undergraduate classes, providing in-class and out-of-class student support, and participating in student advising. Additional responsibilities include participating in admissions and recruitment events and actively engaging in departmental, university, and professional activities. The successful candidate will be a dedicated teacher-scholar committed to evidence-based practice, experiential learning, and inclusive pedagogies.
Qualifications:
- A Doctoral degree in Nursing or Doctoral degree in a related field with a minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred. Candidates with an MSN will be considered.
- A current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- A record of clinical and teaching experience in medical surgical and/or critical care is preferred.
- Experience in higher education is preferred, but not required.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
