As a GXO Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work with dedicated professionals in an exciting, fast-paced environment, learning the skills that will help you build a meaningful career. During the 10-week program, the engineering intern will work with our team in warehouse automation and efficiency improvements. The intern will also learn day-to-day operations, industry skills and overall comprehension of the business to ultimately enhance our value to customers.
What you’ll do on a typical day :
- Develop and conduct production time studies, head count analyses, downtime analyses, efficiency improvement plans, warehouse slotting and SKU velocity analyses, etc.
- Perform value stream mapping, process improvements and standardization
- Optimize layouts of workcells and storage bin locations
- Develop and manage 5S and CI projects
- Participate and / or lead projects with key partners and peer interns by creating and developing project plans, determine requirements, deliverables, resources, timing / milestones, and risks.
