What You’ll Do:

This is a crucial role that will help drive development, design, and merchant relationships on a lean, highly effective product development team. To be successful in this role, experience in creating technical design work is required. Work will convey patterns, sizing, fabrics, trims, and colors. This role should inspire innovation within construction / fit and working closely with the rest of the product development team to collectively make great products. This role will work closely with Product Development, Sourcing, and the CEO/Founder on a complete product strategy to meet financial targets. This role will also: 

• Collaborate with the design team to complete tech packs to the specifications designs pertaining to athletic garments, accessories and equipment.
• Material and garment knowledge to integrate into tech packs for factory clarity and communication.
• Complete understanding of fit, patterns, construction, measuring and evaluating samples, materials, workmanship, function, and production feasibility.
• Communicate daily with domestic & international teams to keep development moving forward. 
• Technical design and development of innovative, seasonal, replenishment, and special event lines.
• Ensure design intent is carried through to the final product through a sampling process.
• Conduct fittings to adequately document and communicate technical amendments and sizing changes to the intended teams.
• Help communicate quality control standards for each product.
• Provide unique insight into relevant market trends with a point of view on the commercial viability of styles with a consumer-focused mindset.
• Work cross-functionally across all teams and departments and maintain a professional and positive attitude with both internal and external clients.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of junior experience in technical design
• High-level attention to detail
• Athletic garment knowledge
• Knowledge of garment design, textiles, sizing, grading, and construction techniques
• Adobe Creative Suite; Ps, Ai. Experience with 3D software is a plus
• Design, development, sampling, production, and communication knowledge
• High level written and verbal communication both internally and externally
• Strong organizational skills in order to troubleshoot and manage multiple projects going on different timelines
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure and deliver projects under tight deadlines
• Portfolio of previous work is a plus
