Auto Body Paint Technician Assistant

The Auto Body Paint Assistant will assist in prepping and painting truck bodies, assist with refinishing damaged body parts in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards.

Essential duties:

· Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.

· Assists in removing rust from metal, and grease and dirt from work surface.

· Assists in masking and protecting parts that are not to be painted or coated.

· Assists with filling cavity dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.

· Assists in mixing paint according to specifications which included selecting and mixing coating liquid to produce desired color.

· Assists with painting surfaces using sprayer or brush as appropriate.

· Assists with inspecting painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags, and unpainted areas.

· Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in proper state of repair.

· Keeps work area clean.

· Other tasks assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

· High school diploma or GED

· Certificate from college or technical school; and/or one-year related experience and/or training.

We are a full-service company offering various types of truck and municipal equipment including, dump bodies, plows, spreaders, utility bodies, truck mounted cranes, trailers, refuse equipment, video pipe inspection equipment as well as a Thomas School Bus dealer.

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Pay is based on experience.

Payrate: 20-25 per hour
