General Laborer
Michigan Center, MI
2nd shift (must be available for all shifts)
Position Overview
The General Laborer reports to the Mixing Production Supervisor and has responsibility for of general housekeeping duties throughout the manufacturing plant. Daily cleaning duties will be assigned and will include dust mitigation, disposal of trash, floor scraping, spill clean-ups and general maintenance of cleaning machines (floor sweeper and scrubbers). Other duties may include non-technical assembly projects (furniture etc.), moving office furniture, snow removal, and grounds clean up. Monitor and maintain areas around trash compactors and open top trash dumpsters.
Primary Responsibilities
This individual will be involved in a variety of duties including but not limited the following :
- Assist supervisors in identifying housekeeping problem areas
- Self-directed at times as need
- Operate a forklift, operate powered floor sweeper and scrubber
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, brushes, brooms shovels, etc.
- Capable of heavy lifting
- May be required to operate snow thrower and weed trimmer type equipment
