Security Engineer

The Security Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the security of networks, systems, and applications, as well as discovering and addressing security vulnerabilities. You will work with the network team to implement security measures, monitor traffic, track phishing attempts, and ensure the organization’s security requirements are met.

Responsibilities:

• Continuously identify and assess security issues and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and implement remediation plans for discovered security risks.
• Assist with the implementation of security best practices and guidelines.
• Configure and maintain firewalls and other security tools.
• Respond to security incidents, including alerts and events.
• Perform risk assessments and threat hunting using available tools and techniques.
• Evaluate new security technologies and implement measures to reduce risk.
• Conduct security assessments, penetration testing, and red teaming activities.
• Assist with security awareness initiatives and educate staff on best practices.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a security-related field is a plus, but not required.
• Experience: Minimum of two years in a security or networking role.
• Certifications: Security certifications such as Security , Net , or higher are a plus.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM.
• Experience with network security, Active Directory, and Azure AD.
• Knowledge of zero-trust principles and security best practices.
• Basic coding/scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
