As a Wine Manager, you’ll lead the Store’s Wine Department in providing superior
customer service and creating the best wine shop in the country by promoting and selling

What is the work?
Management:
- Spends majority of time using independent judgement making employment-related and
and department-related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending,
discharging, rewarding, or otherwise engaging in resolving Partner-related matters
- Trains School of Retail Management (SORM) and School of Retail Leadership (SORL)
- Conducts competitive visits regularly to identify key competitors and key models (stores
- Prepares work schedules, orders product, controls inventory, monitors department
Sales:
- Provides superior Customer Service by assisting Customers with wine related questions
- Maintains Customer database for follow-ups, special product offerings, educational or
- Develops cross merchandising plans / educational programs
- Coordinates wine tastings for special wines by variety region, brand, or vintage
What is your background?
- Minimum age 18 (mandatory)
- 3 years of experience selling wine
- Experience in ordering, inventory management, and shrink control
Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Wine Manager?
- Knowledge of wines of the world including science and process of winemaking, product
storage and temperature
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong merchandising and influencing skills
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks

- Function in a fast-paced, retail environment
