Do you have a:HEART FOR PEOPLE... the commitment to make your Customers and Partners feel appreciated, respected, and needed?HEAD FOR BUSINESS... a desire to Lead in a fast-paced, hands-on environment?PASSION FOR RESULTS... the know-how to surpass sales goals while putting People first?We are looking for:- a bachelor's degree- extensive operational experience- leadership and execution management skillsWhat is the work?Management / Leadership:- Spends majority of time using independent judgment making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions, including product- and department-related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or otherwise engaging in resolving Partner-related matters- Ensures appropriate inventory levels- Manages / controls shrink to meet or exceed Corporate strategy goals- Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and H-E-B regulations and standards for product freshness, food safety, refrigeration, and sanitation- Delegates work to appropriate Partners based on complexity of tasks and skills, interests, and individual capabilities- Monitors progress on assigned tasks and follows up on the completion of assignments and end results- Accountable for department labor and production schedules; communicates schedules to Department Managers- Fosters a sense of teamwork among Partners to ensure a focus towards common goals - Coaches and delivers real time feedback that develops Partners and drives them towards achieving business results - Helps manage performance and development of School of Retail Management (SORM), School of Retail Leadership (SORL), and Intern Program Partners relating to in-store merchandising issues- Owns personal development through pursuing ongoing leadership and product knowledge trainingSales:- Accountable for merchandising strategy that optimizes financial performance and is aligned with corporate strategy as well as customer trends, demographics, and segments- Ensures execution / tailoring of Corporate merchandising plans to achieve profitability goals- Accountable for profitability expectations and results; ensures they are communicated to Store Partners- Participates on the Store Leadership Team to ensure coordination, integration, and alignment of total store plans- Tracks and monitors local competition to ensure we sustain our Every Day Low Price strategyWhat is your background?- Bachelor's degree (or proven track record w/ several years of management experience)- Extensive operational experience- Food Safety certificationDo you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Top Store Leader or General Manager?- Knowledge of government regulations- Knowledge of product presentation, cross-merchandising, and product / profit mix- Knowledge of marketing to customer trends, demographics, segments, etc.- Knowledge of logistics, warehouse, and procurement processes- Comprehensive understanding of marketing concepts (e.g., markdowns, seasonal, exit strategies, display locations, etc.)- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel), and H-E-B systems- Advanced interpersonal, listening, and verbal / written communication skills- Advanced customer service skills- Strong analytical skills- Execution management skills- Proven leadership ability; change leader- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects and tasks- Ability to handle stressful situations; highly adaptable- Ability to set performance expectations and measurement criteria- Passion for selling and service; understanding of product integrityCan you...- Function in a fast-paced retail environment, which requires detailed work and precision- Be exposed to moderate noise level in the work environment- Lift and carry 40 - 60 pounds on a regular basis- Stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, reach overheard and side-to-side throughout shift- Work with customers, being attentive to their needs, yet maintaining composure in high stress situations- Work extended hours and varying work schedules as dictated by the business05-2016
